Phishing Alert helps guarantee that you reach the actual website you want, not a fake website designed to steal your personal information. These fake websites, known as "phishing sites", are often used for identity theft. They appear identical to legitimate websites and can fool users into revealing personal information such as credit card numbers, bank account details, and secret passwords.
Website Information
Do you ever suspect the owners of a website are who they claim to be? Can you be sure you are visiting the site you intended to... or has the site been "hijacked"? Site Info enables you to learn more about a website's "whois" data by displaying the name of the official site owner and calculates its safety score based on the information analyzed.
Find out details about where and to whom a website is registered and whether the site is rated with one of four safeSEARCH security labels:
- • SAFE (appears to contain no dangerous elements)
- • CAUTION (considered possibly insecure and may contain elements which can collect your personal information)
- • WARNING (deemed dangerous and suspected of containing unsafe elements)
- • NO RATING (CyberDefender has no specific information on the site)
Pop-up Blocker
Pop-ups aren't just annoying. Many pop-ups are dangerous. They can introduce dangerous viruses and spyware to your computer. The built-in safeSEARCH Pop-Up Blocker allows you to pick the pop-ups you want to see and block the rest. You can even view a list of pop-ups you've blocked and remove the blocks at any time.

You or your IT security specialist can review this information at any time to help determine the source of an existing threat. Password Alert
Storing passwords on your computer might be convenient, but this habit also poses a security risk. safeSEARCH Password Alert identifies passwords stored on your computer that might be susceptible to theft from hackers to help you proactively protect your passwords.
- View Password Alert safeSEARCH Password Alert performs a comprehensive scan of your entire PC for stored passwords that may be vulnerable to theft, then allows you to view a list of these vulnerable passwords in your browser. Only partial passwords are displayed for secure viewing. You could be very surprised to find out how many there are.
The following recommendations can help prevent your secret passwords from becoming stored in your Internet browser, where they are vulnerable to thieves:
- • Do NOT use "Remember This Password" option when logging into a website.
- • For websites with logon/passwords already stored, change your passwords and disable "Remember This Password".
- • Turn off AutoComplete capabilities in Windows or Internet Explorer.
