CyberDefender's MyIdentityDefender™ Toolbar analyzes every website you visit to safeguard you from phishing scams. Phishing Alert helps guarantee that you reach the actual website you want, not a fake website designed to steal your personal information. These fake websites, known as "phishing sites", are often used for identity theft. They appear identical to legitimate websites and can fool users into revealing personal information such as credit card numbers, bank account details, and secret passwords.

Website Rating
Do you ever suspect the owners of a website are who they claim to be? Can you be sure you are visiting the site you intended to... or has the site been "hijacked"? Site Info enables you to learn more about a website's "whois" data by displaying the name of the official site owner and calculates its safety score based on the information analyzed.
Find out details about where and to whom a website is registered and whether the site is rated with one of four MyIdentityDefender security rating labels:

• • SAFE (appears to contain no dangerous elements)
• • CAUTION (considered possibly insecure and may contain elements which can collect your personal information)
• • WARNING (deemed dangerous and suspected of containing unsafe elements)
• • NO RATING (CyberDefender has no specific information on the site)

User Rating
MyIdentityDefender provides a 5 star user rating system where you can rate the sites that you are visiting and also view ratings left by other CyberDefender users. The 5 star user rating system is broken up in 3 different color warning labels:

• • Green (4 to 5 stars) means that the site you are on was rated well or good by other CyberDefender users
• • Yellow (3 stars) means that the site was rated as mediocre and is not highly recommended by CyberDefender users
• • Red (1 to 2 stars) meaning that the site is not recommended by most of CyberDefender users

Security Ratings and User Ratings are not directly related so use caution when visiting any website. There are many instances where a site may have a green security rating - but receive only 1 star as for user ratings. This may be due to the fact that the site you are visiting is a safe site - meaning its not engaged in any criminal activities - but other CyberDefender users have found this site to be bad due to its behavior such as bad customer service.

Search Engine Link Rating
CyberDefender's MyIdentityDefender identifies and ranks websites returned by every major search engine including Google, Yahoo, MSN, and Ask. MyIdentityDefender does not change your search engine (unless you select to use our search engine) - but simply allows you to use a popular search engine and get immediate security and user ratings - BEFORE - you actually visit the site.

Think of this as an early warning feature which ultimately saves you time from going to a site which is either unsafe or rated low by other MyIdentityDefender users. Search results are accompanied by a five-star rating system and a MyIdentityDefender icon that provides access to more detailed information such as the safety rating, user rating, and important site information such as the year it started, where it is located, and how popular the site is.

Pop-up Blocker
Pop-ups aren't just annoying. Many pop-ups are dangerous. They can introduce dangerous viruses and spyware to your computer. The built-in MyIdentityDefender Pop-Up Blocker allows you to pick the pop-ups you want to see and block the rest. You can even view a list of pop-ups you've blocked and remove the blocks at any time.

• You Can View Previously Blocked Pop-Ups Sometimes, important information comes in the form of a pop-up. MyIdentityDefender allows you to review all blocked pop-ups - helping to ensure that you have not missed important notifications disguised as annoying pop-ups.
• Get Important Information about Blocked Pop-Ups CyberDefender's MyIdentityDefender Toolbar keeps a comprehensive log about the pop-ups that have been blocked. You or your IT security specialist can review this information at any time to help determine the source of an existing threat. For your convenience, you can sort blocked pop-ups by name or by the number of times a particular URL has been blocked.
• You Decide: Allow Pop-Ups or Block Them MyIdentityDefender gives YOU the power to decide when you want to view pop-ups. You may enable (or disable) CyberDefender's MyIdentityDefender Toolbar Pop-Up Blocker for any site at any time.

Password Alert
Storing passwords on your computer might be convenient, but this habit also poses a security risk. MyIdentityDefender Password Alert identifies passwords stored on your computer that might be susceptible to theft from hackers to help you proactively protect your passwords.

• View Password Alert MyIdentityDefender Password Alert performs a comprehensive scan of your entire PC for stored passwords that may be vulnerable to theft, then allows you to view a list of these vulnerable passwords in your browser. Only partial passwords are displayed for secure viewing. You could be very surprised to find out how many there are.

The following recommendations can help prevent your secret passwords from becoming stored in your Internet browser, where they are vulnerable to thieves:

• • Do NOT use "Remember This Password" option when logging into a website.
• • For websites with logon/passwords already stored, change your passwords and disable "Remember This Password".
• • Turn off AutoComplete capabilities in Windows or Internet Explorer.
