Why is Activation required? What does Activation do?

Until you enter your activation code into Registry Cleaner, the software can only locate your Registry errors, but it can't remove any of them.

After you activate, you'll be able to remove any items that are found during a scan.

How do I Activate CyberDefender Registry Cleaner?

You must first download and install the Registry Cleaner on your computer. If you have not downloaded it yet, please click on the "Download" link in the email that CyberDefender sent to you, to begin the software download process.

After installing, open the Registry Cleaner software.

The software must be showing on your computer in order for you to activate it.

There are 2 ways to activate the software.

Option 1

  1. Click on the "Activate Now" button in the lower-left corner of the software
  2. Enter your Activation Code in the space provided (either by copying and pasting from the email that CyberDefender sent to you, or by typing it one character at a time)
  3. Click the "Unlock" button

Option 2

  1. Locate the small, blue "C" icon at the bottom-right of your computer screen
  2. Use your mouse to right-click on the "C" icon, then select "Activate"
  3. Enter your Activation Code in the space provided (either by copying and pasting from the email that CyberDefender sent to you, or by typing it one character at a time)
  4. Click the "Unlock" button

Once you have successfully submitted your activation code, you should see the following message:

Click "OK."

Entering your activation code

Refer to the email that CyberDefender sent to you after your purchase.

Locate the Early Detection Center AntiVirus/AntiSpyware activation code. The email will say:

"Your activation code is: XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX."

Fast -- Copy and paste

The easiest way to avoid errors, like typos, is to copy the code in the email, then paste it into the "Enter Activation Code" window.

Tip: After pasting your code into the "Enter Activation Code" window, make sure that you remove any extra spaces in front of or after your code.

Slower -- Typing one character at a time

The code is case-sensitive, so make sure that you type all letters in CAPITALS.

Make sure that there are no spaces at the beginning or at the end of the activation code, as this will produce an error.

Tip: Please be very careful with the #1 and the letter I, along with the #0 and the letter O.

Why am I getting an error message with my activation code?

If you get an error message after clicking the "Submit" button, please double-check that you have entered your code exactly as it appears in the email. Make sure there are no spaces in front of or after your code.

How to Copy and Paste

How to Copy: In your email, highlight the set of numbers after "Your activation code is:" You can highlight them by pressing on your left mouse button and sliding over the text. Then press your keyboard's "Ctrl" and "C" buttons simultaneously. This will copy the highlighted text.

How to Paste: Click your left mouse button inside the "Enter Activation Code" window and you will see your cursor inside the white space. Then simultaneously press your keyboard's "Ctrl" and "V" buttons, which will paste the copied code into that window.
